Friday News Round Up

Collins a Show, Then a No-show.

I’m sure that you were glad to hear that Nick Collins showed up at practice on Wednesday. Well, apparently, he unshowed up again on Thursday. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Sports Blog has more on that, here.

Tony Mandarich: A New Pornographer?

Former Packer Tony Mandarich is in the news for being a pornographer. Unfortunately for him, his subject didn’t give him permission to post explicit photos and videos of her online. Oops. I wonder if this will make into the afterward when his book goes into it’s second… nevermind. Read the full story at the Phoenix New Times website.

P.S.- The link to the site with the pics is down. I checked…

Players and Battles to Watch During Camp

There’s a nice run-down of the players to keep your eyes on during training camp over at Bleacher Report. You can check that out here. This list corresponds nicely with Packersnews.com’s blog about the starting jobs that may be up for grabs this year. Dig that here.

Economic Evidence That The Vikings Suck

Don Walker at The Milwaukee Journal Sentinal Online is reporting that the average price for a ticket to Packers’ home games is $267. Meanwhile, the average price for a ticket to the October 5th Vikings/Packers game at the Metrodumb – currently the most highly-anticipated Vikings home game of the season – is only averaging $173. More interesting stuff on the range of these ticket prices here.

That’s it for Friday. Not much happening out there as OTAs have wound down. Let the wild, unfounded speculation begin until training camp starts. Or rather: hopefully something interesting pops up tomorrow.
